Installing Fawkes

Fawkes can be installed either from source code or from binary packages. The former is preferred for active development and the only method supported on all systems. For Fedora Linux we support a binary installation. Fawkes has a small number of mandatory requirements which have to be met. Besides that, there are a number of optional requirements which extend the functionality. Some are recommended, because they vastly improve the Fawkes experience. All mandatory and optional requirements are listed on the FawkesDependencies page.

To install and use Fawkes from source, please read the GettingStartedGuide. It also includes extended instructions for Fedora, as this is our primary development platform and best supported in terms of dependencies. It also has some instructions on how to get started after compilation.
